No, honestly, this time you really have.
You have done it… with GREATNESS!
Wait–are we always so sarcastic that when we are being straight up about your awesome giving, you don’t believe we’re serious? We really mean it!!
Truly, from the bottom of hearts, we are thanking you for making a difference at our Charlotte Give It Up Mommyland event last Saturday.
The Matthews HELP Center literally received an entire moving truck full of donations thanks to your generosity. You awesome readers (who are now totally friends, by the way!) put our fabulous team of Sweet Relish helpers to work by bringing bags of coats, clothes, toys, and food to help families in need this holiday season.
During our two hour event you not only brought more items than we even imagined possible, you pitched in and helped us haul items around, you ran home and brought even MORE donations, you colored, you made fun of our Santa hats, and you shopped at the Thrift Store. It was a great way to kick of the weekend!!
Whether you could be at the event or not, those of you who joined Sweet Relish and followed Lydia from Rants From Mommyland, have helped, too!! If you have not yet joined, please consider doing so now. It’s quick and FREE!! Sweet Relish is going to allow this effort to go on through the end of the year (wow, that’s awesome!!), so for every person who joins and follows Lydia they will give a dollar to the Matthews HELP Center. Y’all, they will give up to $5000 to this cause, so please help us make sure no money is left on the table.
Here is how you do it…
- CLICK HERE to go to Sweet Relish and join. (It’s FREE)
- Go to the search box on Sweet Relish.
- Click on Search Members and type in Rants From Mommyland.
- Follow Lydia B.
Drumroll, please, because it is now time for the thank you part of our acceptance speech (don’t even bother trying to play us off the stage, Mr. Conductor Man!).
For allowing us to partner with them in this incredible effort, we thank Rants From Mommyland and Sweet Relish.
For sharing our event in the social media ether, our hats go off to Good Girl Gone Redneck, Mommy B Knows Best, Laugh Lines, Natural and Free, The Charlotte Moms, Mom Favorites, Southern Spark, and the always amazing Jordan Lloyd of Big Brother fame!
For giving beyond expectation and truly changing lives, we applaud Anna Weih, The Gallo Family, The Wise Family, The Gajan Family, Pam Wilson, Anna Kiser, Laura Varney, Buck and Eileen Gatewood, The Strickland Family, Dean Otto, Zach Cardais, The Martinez Family, The Firestone Family, Anna, The Larson Family and those of you who so generously contributed while asking to remain anonymous (but we know who you are, wink, wink!). Please know that without your kind hearts, we would have just been two girls wearing Santa hats standing by some balloons looking very lonely!
The Dose of Reality feels honored to have been a part of something bigger than us, because it was the perfect reminder, especially at this time of year, that everyone working together can genuinely make a difference.
