Dog Ate The Homework? PFFT, She Can Top That!

Let’s just say from time to time our children struggle with what we like to call “truthiness”. You ask them about their homework being done, and they hem and haw for a few minutes and then mumble something incoherent as they trudge back upstairs to complete their multiplication facts.

Or, you ask them point blank, “Did you eat a cookie even though I told you not to?”

And they look at you with the remnants of Oreo still on the sides of their mouths and say, “Oh, no! I’d never do that!”

In other words, they might try to tell a lie, but they aren’t very good at it.

So, when we read this post from our friend Darcy at So Then Stories, we cried with laughter. Because not only is it probably one of the funniest stories we have ever read, but it is a masterful display of creativity in the lying department. We were impressed.

We love visiting So Then Stories because Darcy keeps everyone laughing on her site with her hilarious takes on real life! She is honest about exactly what life is like for her as a mom and a wife. Here at The Dose of Reality, we bow down to that!

After going back and forth about what our very favorite parts of her post “Telling His Teachers A Big Fat Juicy Lie”, we just knew we had to share with all of our Dose Peeps.

Here is quick snippet to show you the fun you have ahead of you…

“Tucker did not have his homework today; he told me this was because there was a termite infestation at home. I told him he needed to ask you to write a note explaining the situation, but he said that his family did not believe in writing notes.

However, since our homework policy is not to accept late work, I would appreciate a note or an e-mail when unusual situations occur so that Tucker can receive full credit.
Sincerely, Mrs. Gilbert”

Needless to say, you have no idea what is coming next, but trust us when we say you will want to find out!

We will be closing comments here today, so you can all go share the Dose love with Darcy directly!
