The Dose Girls Are Spooning

Lisa loves to spoon with a smooth one from the mountains who doesn’t keep her up all night.

Ashley enjoys spooning with the nutty type who’ll put some pep in her step.

We could do it several times a day. It satisfies our cravings.

You know we’re absolutely crazy about spooning our… coffee.

You did know we were talking about coffee, right?

Maxwell House International…Sugarfree Decaf Suisse Mocha (Lisa) and Hazelnut (Ashley) to be specific.

We *love* the stuff and can’t get enough!

Sure we are traditionalists and enjoy a cup (or three) in the morning when we wake up, but we’ve both discovered other ways of enjoying our Maxwell House International Café that are a little bit less expected.

Hazelnut has always been Ashley’s go-to flavor for *everything*. Cake, ice cream, chocolate, if you hand it to her with hazelnut, she’s all in. Heck, she’d even eat broccoli (her least favorite food) if she could figure out how to add hazelnut flavor to it! Several months ago she was drinking some brewed coffee and she realized she didn’t have any milk or creamer for it. She was in a panic. Being the hazelnut enthusiast (and because she was still in her pjs and couldn’t stomach a trip to the grocery without some caffeine in her system) she…improvised.

In a move of true morning desperation, Ashley took her trusty Hazelnut Maxwell House International Café and spooned it right in her coffee cup as creamer. She stirred and took a taste to discover…IT’S BEYOND DELICIOUS!!! No really, it’s a better creamer than things sold only as creamers. It’s that good! Who knew? Ashley, that’s who! And also, apparently the folks at Maxwell House, since they recommend it, too. Great minds think alike!

Lisa does her Maxwell House International Café spooning at night. Wait…what? Coffee at night? YES! It’s her best trick to staying on her diet plan. Have you ever been settling in for the evening to watch a solid bIock of premium reality TV programming and had a craving for a snack? If you’re Lisa, it’s not just any food you want. It’s chocolate. Do you dig down deep and tap into your enormous willpower and watch your episode of Storage Wars without your treat? Well, not if your name is Lisa.

Lisa doesn’t have that kind of willpower reserve, but she doesn’t have to! She has learned the best way to satisfy a chocolate craving is by giving in–with a cup of Sugarfree Decaf Suisse Mocha. It totally satisfies your chocolate craving and fills you up but because it’s decaf it won’t keep you up. It’s like the perfect dessert in a cup. Oh, and if you indulge you’re not even breaking the calorie bank. That Sugarfree Suisse Mocha is 30 calories (1 WW point). ONE POINT!!

  1. This post makes me want to have a cup of coffee and I don’t even drink it (I know…I know…I’m still 12 with my hot chocolate but it is a grown up salted caramel one). The eating while watching Storage Wars was spot on. Maybe I should take up coffee just to get through that. :)

  2. I have chocolate cravings daily. I need to try Lisa’s secret weapon the Suisse Mocha.

  3. I LOVE International Coffees! I think I’ve bought them for like 15 years! I’ve had to switch grocery stores in the past because one would quit carrying my flavors. I even pack it when we go on vacation! ha ha

  4. Yes, the title of this post sure raised my eyebrows! I used to LOVE hazelnut, but when I was pregnant with my first child, I am convinced my tastebuds changed. Now I love french vanilla, but even more so, I LOVE cinnamon!

  5. I like the idea of replacing chocolate with coffee. It’s like replacing one addiction for another, but I’m addicted to both, so I’m not sure where that leaves me. I think I need rehab.

    This was cleverly done.

  6. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I think Maxwell House should hire you to work in their testing labs.

By the way, “premium” and “reality television” shouldn’t be in the same sentence.

  7. I’m sold as well. I’m usually a Hazelnut gal like Ashley, but, Lisa, you convinced me to try the Decaf Suisse Mocha, because I also NEED chocolate before bedtime.

  8. i really like the basic french vanilla flavor :) sitting outside sipping a cup of coffee in the morning! nothing better then that….

  9. They already cancelled school tomorrow for snow that’s still happening. I need extra coffee and maybe some liquor. Just saying. The $100 gift card would help me to afford the liquor to spoon into my awesome 30 calorie decaf mocha. WIN, babies! Like SCHWING! Going and tweeting now.

  10. Wow, these all sound so good! I have a deep abiding love for my coffee and anything that makes it taste even better! And of course I have made my deep and abiding love for you two very well known!

  11. I would spoon the vanilla caramel…i love caramel in my drinks and that sounds awesome!! =) truckredford(at)gmail(dot)com

  12. I started drinking coffee only after my hubby doctored it with more hazlenut creamer than coffee… I was hooked. So, to find an affordable coffee that’s quick, w/ my fav flavors, and a sugar free option? I’m in!!

  13. I wish I could drink all the different kinds you make because I love specialty drink but I have to drink decaf because of my heart. But my sons would definitely drink any of them :)

  14. I’ve long been a fan of the French Vanilla flavor. It’s so good and rich when you want something sweet…like a grown-up, richer version of hot chocolate.

  15. I love hazelnut flavor, but I don’t think I could drink it at night (not because of the caffeine, but because I’d have to pee at night!

  16. I grew up with Maxwell House International Cafe and loved the smell of my mom’s coffee! I would love to try the Vanilla Caramel.

  17. I’m swooning to be spooning…haven’t had Suisse Mocha since my mother introduced it to me years ago. Now I’m on a mission! Thanks!

  18. I would love to try the Suisse Mocha flavor first!

  19. I think it’s wonderful that Maxwell House offers so many delectable flavors, including sugar-free! I’d love all the Vanilla Flavors (Caramel, too)

  20. I don’t usually drink coffee (I’m a tea drinker) but I always keep a can or two of Maxwell House International Cafe on the shelf in case I get a craving. The Sugarfree French Vanilla Cafe is my current favorite.

  21. I am not a coffee drinker, and have never tried any flavored coffee. But you make these sound so good, that I want to try them. The Vanilla Caramel sounds particularly appealing, so I would try it first.

  22. I have to have 2 morning cups of black coffee to get me going..now I can try and add some suisse mocha to add some chocolate flavor to it…Never thought of that before!

  23. The FRENCH VANILLA (or VANILLA NUT) would work GREAT as a Blondie (brownie) recipe! Then you can eat that with some hot SUISSE MOCHA and have a really SWEET day! 😀
