Can you tell that I spent most of my spring break staycation watching Netflix and Amazon Prime? From what I could tell the children were playing happily while mommy mainlained every season of Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls like it was my job. If loving these two shows is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.
I started off our week of togetherness by escaping to the movies with a fellow VM (that is short for Veronica Mars, for everyone playing along at home) addict, where we spent two blissful hours reliving all the things we loved about the show.
I came home from seeing the movie and immediately bought it off of Amazon Prime so I could watch it again. Right now, Robert is shaking his head at his desk finally figuring out where all our money goes. Yeah right. He doesn’t even read the blog (which is coming in really handy right about now during this true confessions moment).
Seriously, though, y’all. Veronica Mars was just the best character ever. If you are a fan of the show, you know that she can deliver a line like nobody else.
Plus, she had the greatest TV dad ever. The way that they bantered was just the best.
And she got to be loved by Logan.
She is the fantasy that we all have in our minds of how we wish we had been in high school. Or how we would do it if we had another shot at it.
So, I was totally decidedly, 100% in the “I want to be like Veronica” camp when I started watching Gilmore Girls again. And then the strangest thing happened. I remembered all the awesomeness of Rory Gilmore. And found myself waffling over which teen I would prefer.
After all, Rory got to live in Stars Hollow, which is the place we all wish we lived. She ate breakfast daily at Luke’s Diner and had the best mom on the planet earth.
She got a chance to be loved by multiple boys, but my personal favorite was Logan. I know, right? Both Veronica and Rory fell in love with a boy named Logan. Clearly, that is a sign of something amazing.
In fact, in my super, secret TV fantasy world where there are no such things as networks, these two shows would collide in reality and Lorelai Gilmore and Keith Mars would fall madly in love and then Veronica and Rory would be sisters. There is your next Kickstarter campaign, by the way. You’re welcome Rob Thomas.
So, what say you Dose Peeps? If this were a Buzzfeed quiz (Fine. I took a lot of those over spring break, too, okay?!), would you get Veronica Mars or Rory Gilmore as the TV character you would most like to be?
